Disney’s Odd Food Rules on ‘Girl Meets World’
Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle might have wrapped up their Boy Meets World discussions on Pod Meets World earlier this year, but the intriguing stories haven’t ended. The trio has now turned their attention to Girl Meets World, the sequel that debuted on the Disney Channel in 2014. For those unfamiliar, Boy Meets World followed Cory Matthews, played by Ben Savage, along with Danielle as Topanga, Rider as Shawn, and Will as Eric. This show, airing from 1993 to 2000, was later revived with Girl Meets World, focusing on Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley, portrayed by Rowan Blanchard, and her best friend Maya, played by Sabrina Carpenter.
Disney’s Pizza Dilemma

Danielle recently revealed a quirky Disney rule impacting what could appear on the show. During a podcast episode, she shared, “Disney is quite particular about showing balanced diets on-screen, avoiding too many sweets. We once had a line about grabbing pizza, and Disney suggested replacing it with fruit!” Showrunner Michael Jacobs humorously insisted, “It’s New York, no one’s asking for a bowl of fruit!”
“Maya reaches her hand in and pulls out cotton candy… SHE ONLY HOLDS IT, NOBODY EATS IT.”Rider also recalled a time when an entire episode revolved around addictive blue cupcakes, a playful jab at Disney’s restrictions. Although the storyline evolved, the episode highlighted lessons on ethics and entrepreneurship. What’s your take on these whimsical Disney guidelines? Share your thoughts!
